Autism Spectrum Training: Aspect customised short course

Tuesday August 31st 3.30pm to 6.30pm @ Muswellbrook South Public School, 57 Maitland Street, Muswellbrook

Austism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is the largest not-for-profit autism-specific provider in Australia. 
Aspect are offering customised, short course (3 hours) training to identify and respond to behaviours from children with high functioning autism/aspergers who are in mainstream school settings.
The course focuses on learning and development options for parents and professionals covering topics such as "Practical Positive Behaviour Support", "Classroom and Break time Social Supports", "Implementing a social skills program" or other topics as requested.
The training is open to all affected families, parents and carers in the Muswellbrook Shire LGA.  Teaching and support staff may also attend.
The training is free of charge.
Light refreshments will be provided.

Stress Less - August 25th 2010

Upper Hunter Community Services and Interrelate Family Centre will be conducting Stress Less, a seminar designed to provide practical information on how to reduce and respond to stress in people's lives.  Topics will cover:How to recognise stress triggers tips and hints on reducing stress levels communication skills Also included will be a light dinner, with tea and cake to follow.  Stress less is open to all community members who want to reduce the stress in their lives.  Stress less will be on Wednesday, August 25th, 2010, from 5.30pm to 8.00pm, at the QEII Community Centre, Cnr Bridge and Market Sts Muswellbrook.  Registration is essential, and please inform of any medical dietary requirements when registering.  Please phone: 6542355 to register, or for more information.

To help parents and caregivers manage difficult behaviour in children 2 to 12 yrs:
Learn a simple technique to get your kids to STOP doing what you don't want them to do (whining, arguing, tantrums etc.) Learn several effective methods to get your kids to START doing what you do want them to do (cleaning rooms, going to bed, homework, etc.)
