Upper Hunter Community Services (UHCS) and Muswellbrook Shire Council (MSC) have partnered with BHP Billiton Mt Arthur Coal to build a strong, sustainable and resilient Muswellbrook Shire community.
Through the new Community Capacity Building Project, new positions at UHCS and Muswellbrook Shire Council, have been created as a result of funding from BHP Billiton Mt Arthur Coal to implement community development strategies and offer new community programs.
BHP Billiton NSW Energy Coal proud to invest more than 1.3 million dollars in this project over the next four years.
The project was developed in response to community feedback which identified community development programs and activities promoting community pride and belonging, and is an example of how Mt Arthur Coal have listened to the community and are working with key organisations to deliver the desired results.
The project will see increased resources and collaboration between partners, which will enhance the quality and availability of services in the area.
The Community Capacity Building Project is a four year partnership between Muswellbrook Shire Council, Upper Hunter Community Services and BHP Billiton Mt Arthur Coal.
